Arlington finished the 2024 campaign strong, but a slow start resulted in the team closing with a 3-7 overall record and hoping to build upon that late-season success in 2025.

During the offseason, most of the signings the Renegades made were from players who had played on the team a season before. There were some new faces on the team, but it was clear that the top performers should be brought back to keep the team's chemistry together.

Here’s a look at the top signings by the Renegades during the offseason.

QB Luis Perez

The most important signing for the Renegades this offseason was bringing back their star quarterback Luis Perez for his third season with the team. Despite the rough season for the team, Perez led the UFL in passing yards (2,307) and passing touchdowns (18) as he didn’t miss a single start.

Arlington went through slight changes to the quarterback room after Lindsey Scott’s departure as Division III star Luke Lehnen joining the team along with Holton Ahlers returning. Perez will be the clear-cut starter as he looks to return the team to the postseason.

K Lucas Havrisik

Last season, the Renegades went through two kickers in Taylor Russolino and Jonathan Garibay, but the team went in another direction with a new boot for 2025. Lucas Havrisik joins Arlington after kicking in nine games for the Los Angeles Rams in 2023, making 15 of 20 field goals with a long of 52 yards.

Thanks to guys like Brandon Aubrey and Jake Bates, the UFL has seen success with kickers getting into the NFL. With his success in the NFL already, Havrisik has a chance to perform well in Arlington and get back into the league.

LB Donald Payne

Payne has been the leader of this Renegades defense since 2023, consistently being the top performer. Last season, he racked up 63 tackles, three for loss and two forced fumbles in nine starts.

There hasn’t been a better linebacker in spring football since 2022 than Payne who has excelled with the USFL, XFL and UFL. The 29-year-old tackling machine will be looked upon once again to lead Bob Stoops’ defense and get the team back to another league title.

S Brady Breeze

The Renegades’ defense had the second-worst pass defense in the UFL last year, allowing 315.5 yards per game. They need reinforcements in the secondary, and Arlington brought in Brady Breeze to help with that after playing 11 games with the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions. Breeze made six tackles in his NFL career.

Anthony Miller

Anthony has been reporting on spring football since 2019 starting with the XFL. He has a credentialed reporter for multiple leagues including the XFL, UFL, PLL, MLS, and WNBA. He also writes for Buffalo Bills on SI and TWSN covering the NFL.
