2025 UFL QB Rankings

As the UFL treads to its second season, 23 Quarterbacks are currently rostered across the 8 teams for the 2025 season. While several fan favorites like A.J. McCarron and Adrian Martinez will not be returning; the executives of the UFL did a pretty decent job at bringing new talent in with NFL experience like Kellen Mond, and Anthony Brown. Today I’ll give my (way too early) QB rankings heading into the 2025 UFL season.
23. Mike DiLiello - DC Defenders
2024: No Stats
DiLiello is a lot like Richard in the sense that he is one of the league's biggest mysteries at the QB position. DiLiello was a late season signing by D.C. in 2024 as a “true” UDFA for the season. DiLiello looks to back up Jordan Ta’amu for 2025, as D.C. only has 2 QBs on the roster with under 50 days left to kickoff.
22. Chevan Cordeiro - St. Louis Battlehawks
2024: No Stats
Cordeiro was the Battlehawks 1st round selection in the 2024 UFL draft after being released by the Seattle Seahawks. One of the more dominant passers in the Mountain West, Cordeiro enters the Battlehawks QB Room with limited experience and underwhelming performance during rookie mini-camp.
21. Rocky Lombardi - Michigan Panthers
2024: (Preseason) 2 G 4/8 33 yds 0:0 TD:INT 5 car 1 yd
Lombardi becomes the 1st player on this list to have some in-game experience this past year. The Panthers selected Lombardi in the 5th round of the 2024 UFL Draft, and it appears that Lombardi will be QB3 for Michigan in 2025. It is worth noting the Panthers have started at least Two QBs per season since 2022, so do not be surprised if Lombardi finds his way higher on this list come the end of the year.
20. Holton Ahlers - Arlington Renegades
2024: 1 G 0/0 0 yds 0:0 TD:INT 1 car -1 yd
While there was hype for Ahlers in 2024 (albeit generated from his own podcast), the ECU alum found himself as QB3 for the majority of the season behind Lindsey Scott and Luis Perez. The 3rd year pro comes into this season looking to prove to not only his staying power in pro football but that he can be the heir-apparent to Luis Perez if needed.
19. Jarrett Guarantano - San Antonio Brahmas
2024: 5 G 30/47 301 yds 0:0 TD:INT 5 car 36 yds 1 TD
While Guarantano needed a fresh start I don’t know if San Antonio was the best place for him to go. Plagued by injury, uncertainty, and bad coaching Guarantano had his development stunted in 2024. With Kellen Mond and Kevin Hogan both “ahead” of him, it looks like Guarantano may be in a developmental year for 2025.
18. Luke Lehnen - Arlington Renegades
2024: No Stats
Lehnen may be one of the most exciting QBs for 2025 and should be utilized in some packages to maximize his skill set. A D3 product from North Central College in Illinois, Lehnen has won multiple National Championships, and personal awards, and scored over 200 Touchdowns in his time in college, en route to becoming the first QB in the UFL to be eligible for the 2025 NFL draft.
17. Kevin Hogan - San Antonio Brahmas
2024: 3 G 5/7 38 yds 0:0 TD:INT 2 car 3 yds 0 TD
Hogan was a surprise signing in the UFL in 2024, as many have forgotten the former Browns QB. The Stanford alum provided a veteran presence including a game-winning drive against the Houston Roughnecks, which gives him an accelerated boost in our rankings.
16. Manny Wilkins- St. Louis Battlehawks
2024: 5 G 27/50 305 yds 1:3 TD:INT 24 car 141 yds 3 TD
Wilkins finally got his professional opportunity however it left much to be desired. After spending 2023 with St. Louis as their QB3, Wilkins earned an opportunity for two games delivering mixed results. While his athletic ability is unmatched, Wilkins still struggles with accuracy and decision making which keeps him on the back half of UFL signal callers.
15. J’Mar Smith - Birmingham Stallions
2024: No stats
Smith’s ranking is less about his play and more about lack of opportunity. Since his injury in 2023, Smith has been the Stallions QB3 where he will most likely spend the 2025 season as well. Smith may be at a crossroads in his career as it appears Birmingham has chosen to go with younger options than Skip Holtz’s trusted veteran. Regardless, Smith has proven to be a capable QB when given an opportunity.
14. Jalan McClendon - Houston Roughnecks
2024: 5 G 13/21 129 yds 0:0 TD:INT 7 car 27 yds 1 TD
I was extremely excited for McClendon going into the 2024 pre-merger. Unfortunately, it appears in the cutdown of personnel that McClendon simply isn’t a Top-8 QB in the UFL. In a different world, I’d love to see McClendon at the helm of Vegas Vipers in a 16-team league, but with age catching up to him in addition to a lack of arm strength it appears that McClendon has taken a position as a backup for right now.
13. Danny Etling - Michigan Panthers
2024: 7 G 69/114 787 yds 3:2 TD:INT 24 car 143 yds 2 TD
Etling may be a bit higher on this list if it wasn’t for injury. As Michigan opens up in 2025, it appears that Bryce Perkins is in line to be QB1. Etling brings a wealth of experience and athleticism for Michigan, should Perkins get injured however, with the former LSU tiger on the wrong side of 30 it appears that Etling will be another highly skilled backup in the UFL.
12. Max Duggan - St. Louis Battlehawks
2024: (Preseason) 1 G 4/7 41 yds 0:0 TD:INT 2 car 15 yds 0 TD
Duggan has all the potential to take the UFL by storm and earn another NFL opportunity. The former TCU alum has a chance to refine and fine-tune his mechanics with QB Development Director Jordan Palmer, which will leave to be higher on our list.
11. Troy Williams - Memphis Showboats
2024: 8 G 58/106 592 yds 5:5 TD:INT 12 car 74 yds 1 TD
Williams may be on the fringe of his career right now. While no one can doubt his athleticism, his ability to transition to a dynamic playmaker through the air has always been a question. With Williams going into his age 31 season, it looks like his opportunities will become a bit more limited as Memphis is loaded at the QB room for 2025.
10. Nolan Henderson - Houston Roughnecks
2024: 6 G 43/74 526 yds 2:1 TD:INT 22 car 143 yds 1 TD
While many thought this could be Henderson’s year to fully take over the Roughnecks’ Offense, it seems like there was some doubt in the organization as the competition was brought in at the 11th hour. Henderson, like many on this list, is an extremely athletic passer who needs to focus on mechanics in order to reach the next level. While it doesn’t appear that he’ll be the day 1 starter, don’t be surprised if he platoons with newly signed Anthony Brown throughout the season.
9. Anthony Brown - Houston Roughnecks
2024: (Preseason) 2 G 12/15 126 yds 0:0 TD:INT 6 car 26 yds 0 TD
The Brown signing follows the trend of Brett Hundley, Landry Jones, and Matt McGloin as former NFL QBs with game experience look to leverage their experience in spring league success. So far, only A.J. McCarron has successfully made that transition with the above 3 QBs being considered middle to low-tier in their respective seasons. Brown, going into his age 27 season has the opportunity to lead a new-look Houston Roughnecks Offense, that on paper has improved mightily. With 10 NFL games (8 preseason) under his belt, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Brown shoot up this list and return to an NFL team.
8. Matt Corral - Birmingham Stallions
2024: 6 G 36/62 494 yds 2:2 TD:INT 15 car 104 yds 0 TD
While it doesn’t appear that Corral will be QB1 in Birmingham, there is no doubting his ability, especially under the tutelage of J’Mar Smith and Skip Holtz. The former Ole Miss QB not only flashed huge ability but also, a superior understanding of the playbook, and coverages. While Corral may not have an opportunity in 2025 however he’s another prime candidate to be traded if injuries mount for other UFL teams.
7. Kellen Mond - San Antonio Brahmas
2024: No Stats
Mond in my opinion is in a make-or-break year for his career in the NFL. After spending most of 2024 not on an NFL squad, the former Aggie may have one final go at it to prove he “belongs” in the “league”. With 44 starts in college, and 11 NFL games (1 reg, 10 preseason), Mond has plenty of experience to take the UFL by storm and needs to string together 10 good games of film to return to the NFL.
6. Quinten Dormady -Memphis Showboats
2024: 8 G 103/173 1,206 6:6 TD:INT 15 car 54 yds 0 TD
Two years of spring ball have left me wanting a bit more from Dormady, however his ceiling has shown he can be one of the best in the league. It’ll be a bit of an uphill battle for Dormady to see the field in 2025 with the Showboats QB room, however, it’s never a wise decision to sleep on a QB who's thrown for almost 3,000 yds and 16 TDs in 10 starts.
5. E.J. Perry - Memphis Showboats
2024: 4 G 55/89 664 yds 2:3 TD:INT 23 car 151 yds 4 TD
Perry, like Dormady, is another QB with an extremely high ceiling yet hasn’t put together a full season of work yet. Despite some erratic play, Perry has proven to be one of spring football's more effective dual threats, and hopefully, if he manages to keep Dormady/Williams on the bench could easily be a Top-5 QB this year in the UFL.
4. Bryce Perkins - Michigan Panthers
2024: 5 G 30/38 343 yds 2:1 TD:INT 20 car 181 yds 2 TD
Perkins like so many on this list benefited from his athleticism, however could not piece together a consistent stretch of games due to platooning and injuries. Hopefully, in 2025 Perkins is “the guy” looking to lead the Panthers to their 3rd straight playoff berth. Regardless of the Panthers’ slew of retirements at Wideout, Perkins’ dual-threat ability keeps him as one of the UFL’s best QBs.
3. Jordan Ta’amu - D.C. Defenders
2024: 10 G 161/280 1854 yds 15:9 TD:INT 43 car 203 yds 1 TD
Ta’amu finds himself once again in the Top 3 despite injuries and retirements decimating the Defenders’ Offense in 2024. With Abram Smith slated to return in addition to a new army of Receivers (worth noting D.C. has seen 6 WRs earn NFL contracts), Ta’amu is poised to continue his run as one of spring football’s most consistent QBs.
2. Luis Perez - Arlington Renegades
2024: 10 G 225/336 2310 yds 18:4 TD:INT 7 car 16 yds 0 TD
Perez’s 2024 was easily his best as a pro which transitioned into him getting an extended look with the LA Chargers during preseason. While Perez may “fall” in our ranking throughout the year, it's crucial to recognize his ability as a passer, and understanding of the game as one of spring football’s smartest signal callers. With over 7,000 Passing Yards and 50 passing touchdowns between the AAF, USFL, XFL, TSL, and UFL there aren’t many QBs in this league who’ve had the success that Perez has in his career.
1. Alex McGough - Birmingham Stallions
2024: No Stats
Despite his transition to WR in the NFL, McGough is back with the Stallions in 2025 and looking to be once QB1 for the team. After a dominant 2023 USFL campaign, which led to him spending 2023 on the Packers PS (as a QB) McGough should be in line for another MVP-Esque season with Birmingham. The Stallions not only return several key pieces on offense but have continued to upgrade as well. For me it’s a no brainer to place McGough as our QB1 going into 2025.
While the rankings are surely to change, between injuries, platooning, and maybe trades, the consistent figures of Quarterbacks like Ta’amu, and Perez allow for fans to appreciate the vested veterans of the league, in addition for the exciting fresh faces like Mond, Duggan, and Brown. With the recent retirement of Davius Richard, 7 of the 8 UFL teams now roster 3 QBs with the Defenders currently rostering 2. With the UFL set to kick off on March 28th, many questions are set to be answered for fans who are anxiously awaiting another season of spring football.
