It’s not every day one of the co-owners of the UFL makes a surprise visit to a press conference and that was the case on Wednesday.

After Renegades head coach Bob Stoops spoke to the media, UFL co-owner Dany Garcia stopped by to speak to the media for a few minutes. Garcia shared how she is adjusting to UFL life over a year after her previous league, the XFL, merged with the USFL to make the United Football League.

“I don't know if you ever get acclimated to it. It is a fantastic, thriving, challenging, beautiful sport and beautiful position. But I will say it gets better and better every year.”

Garcia co-owns the league with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, FOX Sports and RedBird Capital. The league has seen some changes over the offseason, including the newest addition of the headquarters as they moved to have their own location. Garcia talked about what it means to the UFL to have everyone under one city and one building.

“That's a massive, massive milestone for us. Coach spoke about it just earlier that all of our teams and all of our coaches are now in one location and come together. We can do so much more. It's so much more efficient. It puts a stake in the ground as far as who we are. It allows a place that really shows our culture, and at the end of the day, it allows us to take better care of our athletes.”

Going into season two, the league also changed up how the broadcast schedule will be. With WWEs’ SmackDown moving off of Fox’s Friday prime time slot, the UFL will step in and take its place. It’s a move that Garcia feels will excite the players and fans.

“Friday Night Lights with Fox, that was a big initiative for our broadcast partners and our partners in the ownership of the NFL that we come out with a Friday night property where you just get that excitement, that energy under the lights. There's nothing like that. I think our players are going to be absolutely excited about that experience. We're really happy what it does for us and where we are on broadcast.”

Fans can check out Friday night games when the season kicks off on Friday, March 28 as the Houston Roughnecks host the St. Louis Battlehawks.
