Thursday was a tough day for nearly 100 players in the UFL as their dreams of playing in professional football was halted with cutdown day. The Arlington Renegades were one of the eight teams who finalized their rosters.

Arlington Renegades Final 50-Man Roster
Initial Roster Cutdown Thoughts
One of the biggest surprises on the list was Juwan Manigo getting released from the team. Manigo had been one of the best returners in the UFL last season after finishing second in kickoff return yards with 962. He was also sixth in the UFL in punt return yards with 123.
Ultimately, Manigo got swallowed up in a deep wide receiver room that wouldn’t afford him much playing time. Other players on the Renegades with returner experience, like Joe Powell and Jayden Price, can step in and play on defense and special teams.
Another surprise was Delonte Hood, who played in eight games and was in and out of Arlington's starting lineup last season. Hood racked up 19 tackles for the Renegades in 2024. Once again, the emergence of Price probably cost Hood a spot on the team, as Price should be in the rotation or a starter in the secondary.
2025 Arlington Renegades Final Roster Thoughts
Outside of Hood and Manigo, there weren’t many surprises regarding who made the team. Renegades head coach Bob Stoops has a nice blend of returning starters and some new players to help shape the roster.
One position of interest is at running back, as the team decided only to keep two. Kalen Ballage appears to be the front-runner to start, with Dae Dae Hunter backing him up. In the past, the Renegades have been good about using just two running backs as they like to throw the ball with Luis Perez so two might be all they need right now.
Interestingly, the Renegades picked up two offensive linemen off waivers with Alex Akingbulu and Matt Farniok. Watch out for Farniok to possibly fill in as the eventual starter at center as Jake Johanning was playing center during practice on Saturday. Johanning is listed as a guard so to have a true center like Farniok should help get some comfortability to the line.
Wide receiver is another position of interest, as the team decided to keep six receivers on the roster. David Durden is the newcomer on the team, as he impressed in practice Saturday with a nice back-shoulder catch on a deep route thrown by Holton Ahlers. Not sure if Durden will get much playing time, but he might be a sleeper player to watch for.
Overall, this roster improved in the secondary and got players like Chris Odom, who can fill in on the defensive line. It will be much of the same starters from a season ago, but the Renegades look like a team that could threaten to take over the XFL Conference with quarterback changes in St. Louis and San Antonio.
