The CFL Draft is a few months away, but with the combine just around the corner, it’s a good time to look at some of the top prospects entering the 2025 draft.

Hundreds of Canadian football players will be eligible to be selected in the 2025 CFL Draft that is two months away. Over 140 of those players will be participating in the CFL Combine to make their last mark before the draft. The talent pool continues to improve each year with plenty of players who are ready to make an impact on the CFL starting in 2025.

Here are four prospects to watch out for entering the draft.

QB Taylor Elgersma

Canada can be proud of Taylor Elgesma and the rise he has been on over the last few months. After a successful 2024 campaign with Wilfrid Laurier, Elgesma participated in the Senior Bowl as the first Canadian quarterback to ever to do so and the second U Sports player to be in it.

Last season, Elgersma won the Hec Crighton Trophy award for being the most outstanding Canadian in U Sports. He performed well at the Senior Bowl going four of seven that included a 43-yard completion.

His size at six foot, four inches gives him an advantage of being able to get on an NFL roster during training camp. CFL teams would be dumb to not consider selecting him to have for the future as high-quality Canadian quarterbacks are hard to come by.

WR Keelan White

Last year’s class of wide receivers that included Nick Mardner, Kevin Mital and Ajou Ajou gave the league some future stars and even got Ajou a shot at the NFL. Keelan White has the potential to be on their level as an impact player in year one.

White has found himself to be one of Montana’s top targets over the last two seasons. He produced at least 600 yards and four touchdowns in 2023 and 2024.

Should the NFL not work out for White right away, expect him to be a high draft pick as him and Ethan Jordan will most likely be the top two receivers picked in the early round.

DL Jeremiah Ojo

One of the country’s best pass rushers is one of the top CFL Draft prospects in the 2025 draft. Jeremiah Ojo is ultra talented and can be used on passing downs to get to the quarterback.

Last season with U Sports’ Montreal, Ojo was second in sacks with seven and 15th in sack yards with 27. He added 20 tackles to his season and was named as an All-Star on the RSEQ team.

Some of the CFL’s best defensive linemen are hitting their 30s and the league is looking for younger players to step up. Ojo is someone who could be a high draft pick and be a rotational player this season to ease into the professional game.

LB Devin Veresuk

The second ranked linebacker in the CFL Scouting Bureau Devin Veresuk finds himself in the position to be one of the top prospects in the draft. Veresuk’s production over the last three seasons at Windsor.

Last season, Veresuk had a career-high in tackles with 74 and had five tackles for loss, two sacks and two pass deflections in nine games. He has 160 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and nine sacks in 22 career games.

Look for Veresuk to be picked within the first two rounds of the draft. Teams looking for a guy who has good instincts for finding the ball carrier will get a guy who would be a solid special teamer until he is ready to step into the defensive lineup full time.

Anthony Miller

Anthony has been reporting on spring football since 2019 starting with the XFL. He has a credentialed reporter for multiple leagues including the XFL, UFL, PLL, MLS, and WNBA. He also writes for Buffalo Bills on SI and TWSN covering the NFL.
